Content Overview

The course covers the underpinning technical requirements for the installation of electric vehicle charging points. It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation and BS 7671.

 

Delivered through a combination of classroom learning and practical workshop activity, the course gives learners hands-on experience using industry-standard tools, fixings, and equipment within a simulated installation environment.

 

Learners will develop an understanding of EV charging equipment, design considerations for installing, physical installation requirements, general electrical requirements plus inspection, testing and maintenance requirements for EV charing points.

 

Entry Requirements

This course is designed for practicing electricians who who hold an NVQ or similar qualification. They must be conversant with inspection and testing and the wiring regulations.

 

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, learners receive a certificate of achievement issued by EAL, confirming the award’s EAL Level 3 status.
